3/29/2023 0 Comments A7rii shutter counter mac![]() ![]() That said, KEH is offering me a pretty fair amount, so I think I will end up doing it that way. Well, I almost always end up selling stuff the easiest, most fool proof way, which I'm sure is part of the reason I never get top dollar. I really wanted to wait to see about that R5 firmware update… and to do some more shooting with it in the it in the ES mode.ĭo NOT go the E-BAY route. Looking at it that way, makes me want to jump on that KEH offer right now ! that is if you get $2500 from them - as noted you might not Yes - if you get $2500 for selling a used R5 it is like 75%+ of the best deal price to buy "a brand new camera from an authorized Canon dealer with a 1-year Canon USA warranty and free shipping". Rather, this ys a great price buying a new one ! This makes me want to jump on the KEH offer of $2500 ! Selling something used for 64% would be like an all time record for me.īut this is not the price one would get for selling their R5. and honestly, I'm surprised its that much. I need at least $2600 for my replacement stuff. To get myself as close to $3k as possible. In fact, I was thinking I might get rid of my Sigma 150-600 + my old 400 F5.6 as well. A rotating collar, and some lens caps, and they actually paid me for those, so my total was very close to my original quote. But at the same time, I through in a few things that I didn't even report. I've actually sold through KEH, and on the one hand, I think they did drop one if my items from Like new, to excellent. The extra $50 or so I might make on a private sale after shipping and fees just isn't worth my time and hassle. I basically get $300 straight in my pocket with no hassle. Seems like a big hit, but they will pay for the shipping and there are no Paypal or other transaction fees. For example, if I have an older lens I can sell for $400 including shipping in a private sale, those two sites may give me $300 on trade in. Honestly, for my "cheaper gear" sales, I prefer to trade in to MPB or KEH. That said, I've had mostly positive experience (including selling a R5) with the better private sale camera forums. Never know how a deal can go from smooth to sideways. I will say the hassle-free experience of trading gear to these places is often worth the peace of mind compared to dealing with haggling and potential issues with sellers for the extra bit of $$ a private sale can net you. I always cross shop MPB and KEH if I'm selling gear. Not trying to dissuade you on their deal, just saying be prepared for them to give it a lower rating and a lower price. Based on this, I've seen plenty of private sale adds listing their gear as Like New or Mint and I see it and go "yeaaaaah.that would be a bargain KEH lens all day". I've bought stuff from KEH in Bargain condition before and when I got it was like "holy smokes! This thing is in great shape!". Do you have even the tinest brassing or rub mark on the body from handling it? A nick the size of a pinhead on the bottom from setting the camera down? If so, it ain't Like New in their view any more. Like new better look like it did the moment you pulled it out of the box. They may be the pickiest site out there when it comes to the grading system. ![]() You may think your camera looks "Like New", but KEH may call it Excellent after they look at it. ![]() Thing about KEH's offer, they may downgrade YOUR assessment of the camera. I just checked B7H (great store to buy from btw) and they offered $1750 ! Holy me want to jump on the KEH offer !
